FAQ

  • What conditions do you treat? I have 18 years experience treating musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, anything from rehabilitating broken bones and joint replacements to muscular injuries.

  • What are your specialist areas? I specialise in treating patients with musculoskeletal problems following cancer treatment. In particular in breast cancer, where I use my experience and knowledge to treat scarring, cording, myofascial tightness, muscle imbalance and the side effects of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and endocrine therapy. My approach is always holistic and I am well connected within the Bristol and North Somerset rehabilitation world, so If I think you'd be better off seeing a different clinician I am happy to recommend someone too!

  • What treatments do you use? - This is very much guided by what we find during the assessment, your individual symptoms and your goals, however I often use a variety of treatments such as myofascial release, manual therapy, exercise prescription and scar massage.

  • What should I wear for the session? Something comfortable to move. Vest tops are good for shoulder assessments and shorts or loose trousers for knees. During the assessment and treatments I will need to see the area requiring physiotherapy but at all times I shall check you are comfortable with this. If you are having physio to your breast or arm pit area you might need to remove your bra but I shall keep the rest of you covered.

  • Can I bring someone with me? Yes, by all means, if you would feel more comfortable doing this, it is fine by me.

  • Can I have treatment with a cancer diagnosis? Yes you can, I am a specialist cancer physiotherapist, I will adhere to all the necessary precautions and recommendations, however there may be some treatment I don't advise depending on what stage you are at.

  • How many sessions do I need? This depends on the issues requiring physiotherapy and your personal goals. I will often give you a little homework to do too, such as exercises and self massage. On average people needs 2-6 sessions.

  • Are you registered with medical insurance? I am not currently taking appointments paid for by medical insurance but hope to be in the future.

  • How do I book? Please book online using the link below, payment for booking is made in advance online.

  • Do you have a cancellation policy? Please give 24 hours notice to change or cancel your appointment, no shows will be charged fully and less than 24 hours notice at 50% of the session price. This allows me to schedule my clinics and maintain my business, thank you for your understanding with this.
